

I believe the back is oak, or another heavy wood - it looks beautiful and grainy, and much better in person. It’s not terribly loud, but I don’t mind because microphones exist. It’s great for both fingerpicking and strumming, and records beautifully without any of the boomy low mids you might get from a larger bodied guitar.

It’s got the original wire frets, which I love - I find they impart a unique tonality to the instrument on fretted strings while also being very easy on the fingers. Recent work includes crack repairs, a small replaced strip of wood on the top below the bridge, neck reset, bridge re-glue and setup for medium action with virtually zero fret buzz for maximum resonance.
